Episode 83 Hour Two
February 23, 2021

The Cannabis 101 Podcast is your guide through the legalization and consumption of cannabis in Canada and beyond. It’s not just about getting high, it’s about getting healthy. Catch Hour One on Tuesday and Hour Two on Wednesday.

This week I dove into the insurance game when it came to cannabis and man did I learn a lot thanks to Fady Kamel of All-Risks Insurance Brokers Ltd.  For one thing the stigma is alive and well, even when it comes to cannabis insurance. Also, how will growing at home impact your house insurance? There are a lot of things to consider for Licensed Producers, retail stores and even cannabis consultants. What advice would Fady give someone looking to open a store? There are also some options for micro growers.

Chris Ianson is our educator and a Regional Manager with Plantlife Cannabis. Each week on Know Your Buds, we explore a different cultivar and make recommendations for what level of cannabis user it fits with based on their level of experience. Dukem from Royal City was on the menu and the taste didn't disappoint! What is also impressive is the growing operation in Guelph that produces some top notch bud. While the website could use some work, the trim job, colours, look and feel of Dukem is terrific. The lineage has some legends and scary names within it and some rare terpenes make up Dukem. What's in a name? Think first person shooter video game!

The Cannabis Question is about CBD and when it comes to What Pairs Well with Cannabis, the show Rawhide came up.

Episode 82 Hour One
February 16, 2021

The Cannabis 101 Podcast is your guide through the legalization and consumption of cannabis in Canada and beyond. It’s not just about getting high, it’s about getting healthy. Catch Hour One on Monday and Hour Two on Wednesday.

We've chatted with Jesse Lavoie in the past about his constitutional challenge against the Manitoba government for the right to let Manitoban's grow their 4 plants like everyone else is allowed to do. (Quebec is appealing the case they lost, so technically residents can't grow just yet in Quebec) Jesse has some heavy hitters on his side and I just don't get the government choosing this hill to die on in what I have to feel will be a losing battle. This man has put in a lot of work and I asked him to estimate how many hours!!!

Chris Ianson is our educator and a Regional Manager with Plantlife CannabisEach week on Know Your Buds, we explore a different cultivar and make recommendations for what level of cannabis user it fits with based on their level of experience. We had some delicious Lemon Berry from Ness, a 60-40 sativa dominant cultivar. The company behind the LP has a very unique story and the lineage with Lemon Berry includes two landrace cultivars. Ness grows using the hydroponic and aeroponic methods and they have some really intriguing cultivars on the way. We also discussed a new terpene to us, camphene and we'll tell you Who-What-When Lemon Berry from Ness is good for.

The Cannabis Question is about the size your prefer to buy and What Pairs Well with Cannabis has to do with books!
